QUESTION 1 :What were some of the reasons cited in the article why there was a need to have parking lots for women only in these buildings?
The representative from the (AWARE) stated that carparks should be accesible in a perspective as such that it should be near to lift lobby so that it will be much easier for the ladies and there should be a good lighting system , so that the ladies will have a clear visibilty and in addition to the biasness , there is also a closed-circuit cameras fixed to the carparks so as to ensure the safety of the female drivers.
Question 2: (a) In your opinion, do you think it is necessary to allocate parking lots for women only? Why?(b) Which group of people do you then feel should be allocated such priority parking? Explain.
(a).For me personally , allocating parking lots just for the ladies with a little explanation from the peoples who created this dirty plans are ridiculous as they should take note of the disadvantages as such that it will bring a slight changes for the mens and it will put them in a pace where there is much more benefit given to the ladies then the gentlemans.This should not be happening as we in Singapore do not live through biasness action and this has to be brought up in the news as there should be a fair situation where by there also , do take in consideration of the gentlemans who also visited the places.However if we were to look it in a another perspective , the goodness of having parking lots which caters specially for the ladies in general "spoilt aunties and tai tai" , they would feel that this worlds belongs to them as there is no hardship in taking a parking lot in the carpark and they will feel like a quuen and so on.
(b).The authorities shoud cater this benefits to the people who needs a priority such as pregnant ladies who are driving as she will need a safety walkway so that she will be in a safety enviroment as there has been cases where by they had a miscarriage in an accident and probably more parking lots for the highly growing percentage of drivers in Singapore who has registere for the handicapped licensed where by there could park in the handicapped parking lots.I would like to stressed it up that the authorities should create more lots for the handicap passangers as i have been in a situation where by this inconsiderate drivers has just park in a handicap lot when they do not own a licensed issued by the traffic police.
